We as believers are faced with a choice every day. Are we going to enjoy the journey or not. In Luke 10 we see a story of Mary and Martha. Mary enjoyed the moment and Martha did not. What did each of these women do? Mary chose wisely. The Lord said in verse 42,” There is need of only one or but a few things. Mary has chosen the good portion (that which is to her advantage), which shall not be taken away from her.” Verse 39 reveals what that good thing was…”who seated herself at the Lord’s feet and listening to His teaching.” Mary chose to hear the Word of God that day. Martha on the other hand, let care cause her to miss out! Verse 41 “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things.” Verse 40 says that Martha was overly occupied, too busy, wow does that hit you where you live! These two choices loom before us everyday, sometimes moment to moment. When we take the time, by putting God and His Word first, all the cares, the business just seem to take the proper place. Matt. 6:33 “But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.” I encourage you today to make the Mary choice, enjoy the journey!
