Are You Camping Out or Walking Through?

As I was reading psalms 23 this morning, it became so real to me, just as if David wrote it yesterday. It was certainly relevant in David’s day, how much more so today? Verse one starts off with ”
The Lord is my Shepherd (to feed, guide, and shield me), I shall not lack. Wow! How profound is that? If this was the only verse we had to live by, we would be on top of the world. This brings me to my point. Most of the time, the world is on top of us. This psalm in it’s entirety is about the leading of the Shepherd in our everyday lives. Verse four says: “Yes, though I walk through the (deep, sunless) valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod (to protect) and Your staff (to guide), they comfort me.” Whatever situation that you find yourself in today, be assured that the Lord never meant for you to camp out there. It’s just a walk through! Not a camp-out! It’s not the valley of death, only a shadow! A shadow can hurt no one! I challenge you today to ready this psalm. It would be beneficial for all of us to read it everyday. It leads us to victory! When we look to our Shepherd, instead of the shadows around us we will always walk through victorious. He’s with us! He’s leading us! Feeding, guiding, shielding and providing for us! Who could ask for anything more!
